We have one mission: to network. Our goal is to create connections among the players in the tourist market, with tools that become free services for the visitor.
The project began from the desire of some young people from Lampedusa, working in communications, to provide an adequate tourist offer to fully promote the local area, aimed at a new approach to enjoying the island: with the tools of the Lampedusa Today™ brand, the most popular interactive and multi-platform tourist guide, l’IsolaBella™, the free printed tourist information magazine, and info points, it aims at being a fresh and dynamic reference point for tourists, to discover new itineraries on the island, obtain information and, in particular, find services.
With a vision of becoming the meeting point for the precious natural heritage of the Pelagie Islands, the diverse range of offers provided by the local inhabitants and the numerous travellers who come to visit, Hub Turistico is a container of useful tools for promoting the key idea of “networking”, a vital step towards strengthening and defining the multi-faceted identity of extraordinary places such as the islands of Lampedusa, Linosa and Lampione.
We have keywords (or hashtags, if you prefer) that have been with us since we started.
Research: (and study) of the important things to discover in a particular area, to then make them more widely accessible; innovation: technology, naturally, but also social media; sustainability: which, if applied consistently, becomes the future; culture: because everything begins there.
And then there’s Sam! SAM is an acronym for Service As Mission, but he’s also our mascot. We like having him around when making decisions. He helps us focus our attention on the right thing to do, for all concerned.
